The advantages are: smaller size, higher capacity density, low temperature resistance, and better cycle performance. It is the mainstream of new energy passenger vehicles. Disadvantages: poor thermal stability, decomposition occurs at high temperatures of 250-300℃, and the chemical reaction of ternary lithium materials is particularly strong. Once oxygen molecules are released, the electrolyte will burn rapidly under the action of high temperature, and then deflagration will occur.
The ternary lithium battery is also referred to as the "ternary polymer lithium battery", which refers to a lithium battery with lithium nickel cobalt manganate or lithium nickel cobalt aluminate as the positive electrode material. Due to the smaller size, higher capacity density, and low temperature resistance of ternary lithium batteries, they are currently being widely used in new energy vehicles.
